Natural paradise in summer

In summer, the regions of Spitzingsee-Schliersee and Tegernsee are particularly popular among hikers and bikers. Bike tours are ideal to enjoy the perfect mix of mountain joy and relaxation by the water, as there are many easy and challenging routes that lead along the lake. Our hotel has its own lockable bike deposit to store your bike, which also has charging stations for e-bikes. By the way, you don’t have to bring your own bike on holiday. You can rent one here and it will be delivered to Alte Wurzhütte!

You can also do some hiking at Lake Spitzingsee. Conquer panoramic peaks or go on leisurely family hikes across meadows, through forests, and to traditional huts. Afterwards, it’s especially fun to speed back down to Lake Spitzingsee on a mountain cart! Lake Spitzingsee itself offers all the refreshment you need after your adventures in nature.

Winter wonderland at Lake Spitzingsee

If you travel to Lake Spitzingsee in winter, you’ll find a dreamy snow-capped landscape, as snow is guaranteed in our region! Ski fans can look forward to the perfectly groomed slopes of the small, family-friendly Spitzingsee-Tegernsee ski area. The 4-seater Stümpfling lift is situated only a 10-minute walk away from our hotel at lake Spitzingsee. Our region is also a paradise for all ski touring lovers. Mt Taubenstein, for example, offers the best deep snow and no groomed descents, and it’s also one of the most challenging ski tours. Please inform yourself in advance about the current avalanche situation. At Lake Schliersee and Lake Spitzingsee, cross-country skiing is also very popular: 13 trails (including 1 floodlit trail, 2 high-altitude trails, 5 skating trails, and 5 classic trails) await you free of charge. In winter, you can enjoy plenty of activities not only around the lake, but also on it. In fact, when the lake is frozen enough, you can go ice-skating and curling on it!
